Wonder Woman 75: DC’s San Diego Comic-Con Experience
Wonder Woman is 75 years old this year, but don’t tell that to fans, viewing her as timeless. She’s been voiced and portrayed by Shannon Famon, Lynda Carter, Gal Gadot and Susan Eisenberg, yet her red, white and blue costume and accessories tend to stay relatively similar from generation to generation.
Princess Diana, was raised as the daughter of Queen Hippolyte on Paradise Island, home of the Amazons. She was one of the strongest beings on the planet and an expert in combat. More than 20 authors and 600 issues later and Wonder Woman is still among the most popular of DC Comics amazing lineup of characters.
On Wednesday night, DC gave select members of the press the first look at one of Wonder Woman’s most exciting items, “The Invisible Jet.”
For the first time, on the corner of Island (not Paradise Island) Street and 6th Avenue, her jet was revealed in the Gas Lamp District of San Diego during San Diego Comic-Con. Alongside the attraction, fans are treated to a larger-than-life art installation that features pieces created live, onsite, by female artists DURING the convention. The artwork is inspired by the history of Wonder Woman, from her early beginnings to her bright future in movies.
Fans will have a chance to see what it’s like to fly in high, invisible fashion, just like everyone’s favorite Amazon. SDCC 2016 runs through July 24.
