Hulu makes every day TGIF with unprecedented streaming deal

Episodes of “Step by Step” will available for streaming on Sept. 29.

More ’90s nostalgia, you asked?

“You got it, dude,” Hulu responded last week, announcing an exclusvie deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution that will offer Friday nights any day of the week.

More than 800 episodes of some of the most popular shows in the TGIF programming block including Full House, Step by Step, Family Matters, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper and Perfect Strangers will be available to stream beginning Sept. 29.

Perfect Strangers returns as part of Hulu’s TGIF streaming acquisition.

From 1989-2000 (and again from 2003-05), ABC gave viewers a reason to stay home on Friday nights with its powerhouse lineup. These shows provided hours of entertainment for the whole family.

The streaming deal comes just one week after the 30th anniversary of Full House and the 25th anniversary of Hanging With Mr. Cooper.

As the original audience of TGIF matures with families of their own, the resurrection of Friday nights past is sure to have multigenerational appeal. Have Mercy!
